Township Parks & Rec Professionals Can Become Administrators of Park Finder App

The Pa. Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) is inviting parks and recreation professionals to register for free as administrators of the organizations Good for PA Park Finder app, an interactive tool to help Pennsylvanians and tourists find recreation spots nearby.

Organized by location, with a menu of 75-plus outdoor attributes, from dog-friendly camping to accessible playgrounds, the app, developed with DCNR, lets people search for local and state parks that meet their individual needs.

“Local park and recreation professionals are the experts on their municipalities’ local parks, trails, and programming,” says PRPS CEO Tim Herd. “We’ve created this Good for PA Park Finder administrator program to ensure the app is as accurate as possible and give these professionals easy access to this marketing tool.”

As a Park Finder administrator, a professional receives back-end access to the app to add, edit, and update information about parks and trails in their jurisdiction. Administrators can update park hours and addresses, add park tags and amenities, list upcoming events, edit park descriptions and details, and even add photos.

Park Finder administrative access is limited to PRPS members; professional memberships range from $85 to $120 per year. PRPS is offering membership for the rest of 2024 and all of 2025 for the cost of a one-year membership. For more information, go to prps.org/join-now.
