PUC Alerts Consumers of December 1 Energy Price Changes

The Pa. Public Utility Commission provided a reminder that most electric utilities will adjust electric generation prices charged to non-shopping customers effective December 1. These changes are for the generation and supply charge for energy and is the utility’s “Price to Compare” (PTC). Customers may shop for lower rates than the PTC.

Many adjustments are decreases ranging from an 8.6% decrease for Duquesne Light to a drop of 25.7% for Wellsboro Electric, with Citizens’ Electric, PECO, PPL, and UGI Electric also reporting decreases. Increases are being reported by Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power, Pike Co. Light & Power, and West Penn Power, with a high of 10.4% increase by Met-Ed. To learn more, read the press release.
